Description
Experience the intellectual depth of Thomas Henry Huxley in this essential collection. American Addresses presents the philosopher's passionate defense of empirical science against speculative metaphysics, while the Lecture on the Study of Biology outlines his rigorous approach to natural history. Huxley, known as Darwin's Bulldog, was one of the most influential scientists of the 19th century, and these works capture his ability to make complex scientific questions accessible and engaging. This EPUB edition brings together two of Huxley's most influential writings on the philosophy of science. American Addresses is a powerful argument for the primacy of observation and evidence, while the Lecture on the Study of Biology is a foundational text in the history of scientific method. Perfect for students of science, history, and philosophy, this collection is a must-read for anyone interested in the evolution of modern scientific thought.

Helpful and well organized. Knocked one star only because it felt a bit short.
Better than expected. American Addresses, with a Lecture on the Study of Biology held my attention most of the way through. Finished over the weekend.
Nice addition to my library. EPUB opened fine on Apple Books. Read on Kindle.
