A Drink with Shane MacGowan

Description

Shane MacGowan was the poet-punk whose lyricism defined an era. From The Pogues to The Diodores and his solo career, MacGowan's work was as raw as it was brilliant. Victoria Mary Clarke captures the full scope of his turbulent life and creative output in this intimate biography. Clarke's writing is both respectful and honest, portraying MacGowan as the complex figure he was — a brilliant writer, a reckless performer, and a deeply human man. This is one of the most insightful biographies of a cult figure in recent memory, and it is an essential read for anyone who has ever been moved by MacGowan's words.
