A Friend of the Flock: Tales of a Country Veterinarian

Description

Step into the rural heartlands with John McCormack's endearing memoir, A Friend of the Flock. As a country veterinarian, McCormack's practice is about far more than treating illness — it is about being an integral part of a community, where his patients include not only the animals but the farmers, their families, and the land they tend. Each chapter offers a vignette of veterinary life, blending humor and wisdom through the stories of his patients.\n\nMcCormack writes with a voice that is both knowledgeable and deeply human. He describes the frantic call on a Sunday afternoon, the quiet wisdom of an aging farmer, and the simple satisfaction of a herd that's healthy. This is not a medical textbook; it is a collection of tales that capture the essence of country life. You will find yourself laughing and reflecting on the connections that bind a rural community together through the shared work of caring for animals.\n\nWhether you are a veterinary professional or simply a fan of good writing, A Friend of the Flock is a rewarding read. It is a tribute to the vocation of the rural veterinarian and the enduring bond between humans and the animals they raise. Ebook edition available now.
